Transport request creation ,release and Import in SAP

Every organization maintains their own landscape based on requirement.Usually it is three system landscape Development -> Quality -> Production.

No one is allowed to do customization on production system except user set up.so we should   create roles only in development system later transport these roles to qua and production.

Note:Roles are client dependent.
Create Transport Request TR in Development using PFCG
Follow the below steps to create TR.
1. Go to PFCG and select TRUCK symbol or go to menu bar Role->Transport.
To Transport Mass roles go to Utilities -> Mass transport

2. It will navigate to new window ask for add the roles and then click Execute.

3.  Next click on continue. Here don’t select User Assignment.

 4. Now Select create Transport Request option. It will navigate to new window. Here enter short description as mandatory.

Transport request naming convention will come as per server settings.
Ex: <SID>SYSTEMS<sequence number>
Short description Naming convention:
<Ticket no > project name<role change description>
Ex: QC 1078 3M S&A Changes to ABAP Development Role

5. Now click on continue. TR created for roles as shown below.

6. Release this transport request using SE01/SE09/SE10

7. In SE09 go to Display -> all the transport request will be shown with your name.

Once released sub task then release maintain task as per below.
Once released successfully import this TR in target systems QA & Production.
8.Import TR in Target systems  using STMS.

9. Select Display overview Icon

roles imported in target systems.

Once imported Transport request in target system, should check technical verification means check role has generated profile and user comparison. If required perform PFUD.

Note:
1. Do the required changes to role before releasing the TR. If you do any changes to role after releasing then those changes won’t reflect in existing TR. Then you should create a new TR for new changes.
2. Check if there is any transport dependency for roles before importing the roles in target systems.
3. if you found any transport dependency then import the dependent transport in sequence.
4. If you transport without sequence then you will lose the new changes and because of overwrite.
