SAP Enterprise Portal Security


In Portal security we have to provide access to users by giving portal roles in net weaver. This is same as ECC security. We can create users in portal also by using user administration tab in portal. These data will be saved under UME DATA base.
In ECC database is ABAP and portal database is UME (user management engine).

In portal 3 tabs are important
1.       User administration
2.       Content administration.
3.       System administration.
 



 
               Security admin will need user admin tab access. Other two portal developers need.

·         To synchronize the data from back end to portal, portal development team will create connectors and will map to the respective systems.
·         Portal team will do all these configuration in system administration tab.
·         And to assign portal roles to users in portal they will create roles in portal.
·         First security team will set up roles in back end then portal team will create respective groups (roles) in portal.
In portal roles will be called as groups.
·         Security team creates users in portal and assign portal roles also. 

 User Administration :

create user
Copy user
Delete user
Assign roles/Groups
Delete roles/Groups
Validity change
Assign user groups

All these actions can be performed under user Administration tab by security team.

       Content administration & System administration :
         Portal Development team will handle .
