System Landscape,Clients and SID in SAP

  Here will discuss about SAP Landscape and clients and SID's in SAP.
  SAP Landscape:
  SAP Landscape consists of Development/Quality /Production.
  and below other systems also can be used.

1. Development system
2.Quality system(QA)
3.Integration system(SIT)
4.UAT system(User Acceptance test)
5.Pre-production system
6.Production system..


Sand box also can be used to implement new objects and for training purpose.


in SAP .. All the development will be done in Development system and then the objects will be moved to QA system. once moved to QA testing team will test the changes .if objects are working fine then will move the transport requests to UAT.upon successful testing in UAT & Pre prod then will move to Production.

to move to objects from Development to production via landscape ,need to create transport request and connection should be established between the landscape.

SID's :

SID contain three alphanumeric word.

SID means system identification .

Ex: D01,Q01,U01,T01,P01.

Clients in SAP:

Default client-000,001 and 066 will come up during the installation process

 000 :  client 000 contains all SAP slandered data includes parameters,settings,configurations.
 001:  copy of 001 client.
 066:  called as Early watch client . Used for monitoring and performance

 Standard Users:

SAP*,DDIC & Early watch.
